Plastic Bag is an influence for our piece mostly because of the shot compositions as we follow the sad journey of this plastic bag trying to return to its initial owner. The static wide shots really make the audience notice the plastic bag, amongst beautiful backgrounds. In addition, there are many uses of pull focus on the bag which we would like to use on the marbles.
Finally, the amusing voice over shows hints of comedy but really highlights the sadness and isolation of the plastic bag, which we would like to portray with our elderly character. The thought of a play on words with "losing one's marbles" sounds like a lighthearted approach to a drama and we don't want to lose that, hence why we would like to include some small uses of watercolour animation amongst the sad subject we will be dealing with. Nonetheless, we are hoping to achieve a lighthearted and heartwarming ending in which the elderly woman will hold her granddaughter's hand to show appreciation for her and to show that she can now move on.
