Our Idea and Roles

Our roles are:

Olivier Chevalley - Producer
Thomas Johnstone - Director
Ryan Goff - Cinematographer
Jamie Wiffen - Sound Recordist
Emily Howes - Sound Editor
Me - Editor

There has not been much communication between us about an idea; it doesn't help that we don't all know each other. I only know the names of a couple of people and have barely spoken to a couple, so communication is a bit foggy.

I have tried to think of an idea for the drama, nobody else seems to be giving one so I have decided to give an idea that I've been planning for months about an elderly man losing (literally) his bag of marbles and proceeds to go on a journey to find them, through various beautiful landscapes and shot compositions and once finding them returns to solitude and becomes an overall happier human being after finally plucking up the courage to leave his house after his wife died. There is of course more to the story, but this is all I wrote in the group in the hope that we would finally come together. Olivier seemed happy with the idea and between us both, the night before our pitch, we wrote the presentation and treatment. Communication between us both went well and we finally have an idea!


However, I'm already slightly regretting giving it, because I don't have the role of director I know I don't have creative control which only on reflection is becoming a regret. Hopefully it will all work out nicely though.
